Exercise Ball Ab Workout, Get Ready For Spring!

Easy Exercise Ball Ab Workout

No matter who you are or where you currently are from a fitness point of view, you can get in better shape and have a nice tight, toned body and abs. One of the most effective, and fun, exercises to do is an exercise ball ab workout.  These balls can help you get even more out of your workout because you will use all of your core muscles in order to keep your balance.  By engaging all of your muscles you can ramp up the effectiveness of your ab routine and get even better results from your ab work outs.

Other benefits of doing an exercise ball ab workout is that it can help you improve your balance and help with posture.  Here are some simple exercise ball ab workout tips for you to use starting today:

First you need to get a ball.  Most department stores have them for sale. When you buy a ball it should come with a means to inflate it, a pump, if not pick another brand. Exercise balls come in different sizes, for an exercise ball ab workout you want to get the large size ball. Make sure you  pump it up all the way until it is nice and firm.

Two Great Exercises

1. For the first exercise, lay with your back flat on the ball so that your lower back area is resting on the ball.  Keep your knees bent at a 90 degree angle with your feet flat on the floor.  Place your hands behind your head for support but do not pull on your head.  Slowly rise up to a crunch position, hold for a two count then lower back down.  Pull your belly button in to your spine to optimize this move.  Do at least 12 repetitions.

2. You can modify the above exercise by adding resistance using a medicine ball.  Position your back higher on the big ball with your shoulders lying on the ball.  Instead of crunching upwards take the medicine ball from the middle of the chest position to the right side twisting the upper part of your body to the right.  Hold the move for a two count, then back to the middle position.  Do at least 12 reps on each side.

Just Add To Your Routine…

These are just two examples of an easy to do, yet highly effective, exercise ball ab workout. You can do other exercises to get tight toned abs quickly and easily.   Add this routine to your daily workout and if you  eat a sensible diet of high quality protein, and a healthy balance of carbs and fat you will see results very quickly.
